Product Warranty & Return Policies


Returning Products & Defective Materials
The satisfaction of Astro Optics’s customer is of utmost importance. If our customer requests a RMA (Return Material Authorization) on a defective product, Astro Optics will fully reimburse the cost of goods sold, plus any freight charges associated with the order. Unreturnable products that are not identified as unreturnable in a manner consistent with this policy that are included in the Astro Optics catalog without being identified as unreturnable, and are returned by a customer, will result in the vendor paying Astro’s costs to store or dispose of the returned product at Astro’s discretion.

Product Warranty & Returned Materials
Vendor represents and warrants that the Products are free from defects, merchantable, fit for their intended purpose, and meet specifications (“Warranty”), which shall be passed through to customers of Astro Optics (collectively “Customers”). The Warranty shall commence upon the date of purchase of the Product by Astro’s Customer. Vendor shall accept all returned Product from Astro Optics upon Astro Optics’s determination (or Astro’s receipt of notice from a Customer) of Product failures, or defects or problems in the design, specifications, materials, quality, manufacture or workmanship with respect to the Product (“Product Failure”). In addition, Vendor shall also:

  1. Provide 100% Full Cost reimbursement for all Products returned from Customers for “IN” warranty Product Failures. Full Cost (“Full Cost”) means current cost of goods sold plus any freight charges. This shall include 100% reimbursement of the then current Product Cost for no charge parts sent to Customers, and for Products that are returned to Vendor and/or scrapped by Astro Optics. Astro Optics may recover the full warranty repair costs, including any shipping costs, for any repair of Product Failures either by Astro Optics itself or through third party service providers.
    1. Small Return Claims: Astro Optics reserves the right to scrap defective product with a total cost of less than $50 and debit the vendor.
  2. Return/Exchange of Inventory: Astro Optics reserves the right to return unsold portions of inventory on products that are not achieving satisfactory sales levels. The product(s) will be returned in sellable condition in their original containers for a cash refund or credit with no restocking charges. Astro Optics will absorb the freight charges in most cases.
  3. The Full Cost reimbursement required by “Product Warranty and Returned Materials” subsection (1) above shall be in the form of a Debit Memo issued by Astro Optics.
  4. Vendor must submit to Astro Optics written notice of any disputes relating to a return within ninety (90) days after Vendor’s receipt of such return, and Vendor’s failure to do so will constitute a waiver by Vendor of any objections with respect to such return.
